Peter Anthony James

Peter Anthony James is a Norfolk-based artist specialising in vibrant, atmospheric depictions of the landscapes and places he has encountered locally or on his travels. Many of the paintings feature scenes in Norfolk and Suffolk as well as Hertfordshire where he has lived previously. He is also drawn to capturing the feel of London and in particular the rich mix of old and new buildings in the redeveloping parts of the city such as Kings Cross.

The paintings are acrylic paint on canvas or canvas paper, often quite large in scale. Peter also does watercolour paintings and ink and wash sketches.
